about us

The world is full of loving and devoted parents who strive to do their best.  The tendency, however, is to rely mostly on love and common sense to guide their communication and interactions with their children.  Unfortunately, this leads many parents to struggle more than necessary.  The fact is that parents need to learn skills to help them be the most effective parent possible.

Partners Megan Stock and Nicole Diduck both possess Masters degrees in Speech-Language Pathology.  Beyond the academic, they share a deep compassion for children.  Perhaps even more significantly, they are both mothers.

For many years the pair worked together to improve the lives of young children.  During their journey of working directly with children, then teaching parents and professionals to help children, they discovered a shared passion for helping adults understand a child’s perspective and consider their feelings while helping them learn to communicate.

When they became mothers themselves, they had an important realization. They, and all parents, need to apply the same compassionate approach they had taught for years, to all daily interactions with their children.  After facing many unexpected but common challenges as mothers of preschoolers, they discovered that this type of communication does not come automatically yet it is the key to successful and connected parenting and helping children be all they can be.

They have since created an invaluable “communication toolbox” of techniques for understanding, speaking to, and listening to children.  Whether it relates to responding to challenging emotions and handling tantrums in a helpful way, gaining cooperation, helping them feel good about themselves, or fostering learning, how adults communicate is the key.  These specific ways of communicating can transform how children respond, the parenting experience, and the relationship between parent and child.

They have devoted their careers to educating and supporting the most influential people in the lives of children to create their own toolboxes - ultimately to fulfill their mission to make a positive impact on the happiness and well-being of children.

“Our everyday language is not adequate for communicating meaningfully with children.  To reach children and reduce parental frustration, we need to learn a caring way of conversing with them.”
